Forest and Carbon Budget Modelling

• Landscape level modelling - Developing tools to allow the realistic simulation of future landscape patterns in ecosystems managed in part for timber harvest and subject to fire and other unpredictable disturbances.
• Development of tools for the analysis of the forested lands component of the Canadian Carbon Budget
• Strategic Forest Modelling in British Columbia - Projecting expected large scale patterns in future forest structure and wood supply for the province as a whole.
• Forest Disease Modelling in North America - Developing approaches to integrating our best understanding of disease processes into management models.

Software Development

• Design and development of database systems for environmental impact assessment

Natural Hazards

• Design and project management for the development of the NHEMATIS (Natural Hazards Electronic Map and Assessment Tools Information System) product with Emergency Preparedness Canada (now OCIPEP)
